At Atlas Broker, we are not just about crunching numbers and helping clients achieve their financial goals, we are deeply rooted in our local community. Like many of you, we spend our weeknights ferrying kids between sports practices, cheering on the sidelines, and even picking up the bat for a game of cricket ourselves. Supporting our local sports clubs and teams is not just something we do; it is part of who we are individually and a team in business.

For years, Atlas Broker has proudly played for and supported the Mitcham and Glen Waverley cricket club, two organisations close to our hearts. More recently, we have connected with Eastfield Eagles BMX Club, embracing their high-energy culture.

We had the privilege of supporting Pete Morrow’s son, Jake, on his basketball tour to the USA. Jake, legend of a kid, popped into the office to say hello and share a bit about his journey before heading off.

As a proud member of the Eltham Wildcats, Jake spoke about how the club is welcoming to everyone, whether you are there to have fun or take the sport more seriously.

Jake’s U.S. tour was driven by three simple goals: to meet new players, compete in a fresh environment on the court, and to embrace new experiences off the court. Travelling to a country where basketball is more than just a sport, it is a way of life, gave him the chance to connect with players from diverse backgrounds, challenge himself against international competition, and play in iconic basketball stadiums.

For Jake, this journey was not just about the game, it was about the friendships he built and the personal growth he achieved along the way. His story is a powerful reminder of the incredible opportunities that come with chasing your passions and stepping out of your comfort zone.

While our role in supporting local clubs and individual athletes like Jake may seem small, the joy and pride it brings to Atlas Broker is immeasurable. Seeing young people chase their dreams, thrive in their passions, and grow as individuals reminds us why community involvement is so important.
